Skip Schiel, Fall Light Workshop Teacher

Along with making photographs about difficult issues, such as water rights in Israel-Palestine, prisons, and poverty — I make photos of the earth. I try to show what is beautiful and admirable about the earth, as well as how humans are ruining it. I am fascinated with light, inspired by Einstein once claiming that "All I wish to do is study light." Since 1990 I've taught photography at the Cambridge Center for Adult Education and thru Harvard's Landscape Institute. Quakerism and Buddhism ground most of my perspectives, along with a quest for truth. And for the past 4 years I've been traveling regularly to Israel and the Palestinian Occupied Territories. Photos are at teeksaphoto.org. And my blog is skipschiel.wordpress.com
