The Charles River has been my neighbor, friend and inspiration since I moved to Boston. It’s stillness, beauty, and the ubiquitous nature of its waters can be captured in pictures. Although I am a scientist at heart, my true passion for life is expressed through photography. I once traded in my chemistry kit for a camera – and from that point forward, I knew that I was destined for viewing life through a telephoto lens. Photography allowed me to reflect and appreciate the gifts from nature. My journey with light, color, and darkness has been tested many times and through many occasions. The most recent Fall Light Workshop: Photographing the Charles River is an example of my growing passion for photography. I learn something new about myself, and the image I am seeking to immortalize, with every click of the camera. Photography has allowed me to pause and capture the essence of a moment, and enjoy that moment over and over.
